Job Description
Looking for a CT Tech with 2 years of experience to work Wednesday and/or Saturday, 7p-7a
Perform radiological duties in compliance with standards defined by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). The Radiologic/CT Technologist acts in a professional manner, responds to patient needs, and supports colleagues and associates in providing quality patient care.
The Radiologic/CT Technologist uses equipment and accessories, employs techniques and procedures, performs services in accordance with an accepted standard of practice, and demonstrates expertise in minimizing radiation exposure to the patient, self, and other members of the healthcare team. The employee must be able to perform each essential function effectively to be successful in this position.
1. Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination.
2. Explains and prepares patients for radiological procedures that will be performed, producing diagnostic images in such a manner as to ensure patient care and safety.
3. Protects patients, self, and staff from radiation exposure by using ALARA and practicing sound procedures that meet or exceed recommended industry standards.
4. Obtains quality diagnostic images as requested by the provider. Maintains a low repeat rate.
5. Adjusts equipment for proper radiographic exposure techniques in accordance with radiation safety guidelines.
6. Ensures that all equipment is in good working condition and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
7. Immediately reports any equipment malfunctions to the Imaging Manager.
8. Provides timely and adequate documentation.
9. Maintains all patient X-Ray files in a confidential and secure manner.
10. Maintains cleanliness in all diagnostic imaging rooms and stocks necessary radiological supplies.
11. Works closely with the provider(s) to receive guidance and instruction for treating patients.
12. Demonstrates effective communication skills to ensure optimal patient care and promotes a positive working environment.
13. Assists with maintaining an updated CT protocol manual and software upgrades.
14. Assists with training of new associates, providing resources and technical expertise.
15. With appropriate training and competency validation, performs other job duties as assigned and within the scope of their practice. Such as venipuncture, lab operations, obtaining vital signs, EKG, and other delegated tasks within the facility.

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

• Ability to work extended hours.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); two-year college or technical school.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and follow HIPAA regulations.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
• Basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• A graduate of a 2-year accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
• Current registry with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T.) required.
• Must have and maintain M.R.T. registration with the Texas Medical Board.
• Must have adequate CT experience and proven competence as determined by the Radiation Safety Officer.
• BLS Certification required.
• Completed company company-provided laboratory testing course and competency.
